A fast-growing global company is looking for a French Speaking Senior Statutory Specialist to join its financial services centre in Budapest. The organisation is in the midst of a large-scale centralisation programme, transferring statutory accounting responsibilities from several European countries to the Hungarian hub. As the new structure takes shape, a specialised team is being built to support the transition. We are seeking a colleague who is eager to help shape this newly formed function and contribute to its long-term development.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual statutory financial statements and ensure adherence to local accounting rules across various European countries
• Analyse, reconcile and clearly document discrepancies between internal management reports and local statutory results
• Cooperate closely with external auditors and advisors to ensure smooth audits and timely submission of all required documentation
• Assist with month- and year-end closing processes and incorporate organisational changes (such as mergers or restructurings) into statutory records
• Support the creation and harmonisation of processes, maintain a strong internal control environment, and identify areas where efficiency can be enhanced within the centralisation effort

Requirements

• Recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent)
• Strong English and French language skills
• Hands-on experience with at least one major European accounting framework in an international or multi-entity setting
• Background in statutory reporting, audits or multi-country finance operations
• Excellent analytical capabilities, solid documentation skills and strong command of English
• Detail-focused, well-structured, and confident working with a range of stakeholders in a dynamic, evolving environment
